Introduction Post

My name is Kami Lawrence, and welcome to my blog.  I am currently in a Masters degree program in Teaching and Learning with Technology at Ashford University.  This blog will contain posts about my thoughts on educational technology and its usefulness in the classroom.  I was drawn to educational technology because of its potential in connecting classrooms and students around the world into a collaborative learning environment.  I am especially fond of technologies such as Google Documents, Wikis, and social media.  These technologies allow students from all over the world to collaborate on projects, even creating and editing a single document together despite living so far apart.  These types of technologies are truly shrinking the world and making quality distance education possible.
